Avery Alphabet Soup
"A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014"

Avery has really started to take off in the language department. He's mastered most of his flash cards, knows all his colors and some select letters too. These foam letters are pretty much all he feels like playing with in the bath lately, calling out the colors and naming letters. He's constantly jabbering out the names for things as we stroll up and down the isles at the store and surprises me every day with a new word that I didn't even realize he knew! It's so fun to hear his little voice saying words and see his joy in learning new ones. It also makes communication easier, which is a bonus with little brother making his appearance any day.
Here's to hoping that next week's photo is one that stars Avery in his new big brother role!

  1. Once they start communicate it really does make things a lot easier, less frustration for them too.

  2. I am SO impressed that he knows his colors already. Good job mama! Edwin is still clueless and Nick thinks he is color blind. ;)

    1. No way he's color blind - he knows all the colors, he's just being a rascal and keeping them to himself ;)

    1. I KNEW IT WAS HAPPENING! I could sense it! That's why I wrote that comment!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Amanda and Justin and Avery and welcome baby Cullen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to hear the story on his entry into the world! Praying for a speedy recovery for you and for a peaceful transition back home with big brother Avery. (Just so you know, my first night home with baby Sawyer in tow, and having to give up my bedtime routine with Bennett because my new baby needed me... I cried myself to sleep because I was certain I had ruined Bennett's life forever!!! LOL. Trust me... It gets easier :) )

    2. Amy, HOW did you know?! You have got some crazy awesome mama psychic powers!

Thanks for sharing your wisdom (again) about life with 2- I know that will kill me too, not being able to be there for Avery 100% of the time anymore, especially since he is still so much my baby! I miss him so much being at the hospital, he's being such a trooper with all these changes already! :)
